Thieves decamp with Rs 1.5L from liquor shop

A liquor store was looted in Outer Delhi’s Narela area, police said on Tuesday. The accused persons who are yet to be identified stole Rs 1.5 lakh from the cash register. The police are trying to get the CCTV footage from the vicinity to establish the identity of the accused.

The incident came to light on Tuesday, when the employees working at the liquor store in Delhi State Industrial And Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (DSIIDC) found that the store was broken into and robbed of Rs 1.5 lakh. 

According to police, the store was shut for three days and when it was opened on Tuesday morning, the cash was found missing.

“When we were informed about the incident, a case was registered in Narela police station and a team was deputed to the spot. 

“It was found that there was a vacant store adjacent to the liquor store, which was initially targeted. 

“The accused then gained access into the liquor store and stole the money,” said a senior police official. 

The police are now using technical and manual surveillance to ascertain the identity of the accused. 
“We will soon apprehend them. The investigation is underway,” he said.
