They are not ‘item’ songs: Sunidhi

Singer Sunidhi Chauhan, who has crooned a lot of hit item numbers like Sheila Ki Jawaani, Dekh Le, Mehboob Mere, Beedi and many more, refuses to call these ‘item songs’.

‘Whatever you call them, every song has it’s own charm. I don’t like calling them item songs but they are special songs. They are treated specially, they have extra attention and they are picturised in a special way. So, I like being associated to any special song,’ the 28-year-old said while recording for a song for the film Yeh Saali Khushi.

The music of Yeh Saali Khushi has been composed by brothers Siddharth and Sangeet Haldipur, who had also composed two songs Aa Zara and Tujhko Bhulana for Murder 2.

Sunidhi, who was nominated for the Apsara award for best female playback singer for the song Aa Zara, is all praise for Siddharth and Sangeet. While Sangeet Haldipur was a member of the band Aasma, Siddharth was a part of the boy band Band of Boys.
