Theatre is an acid test: Rajesh Puri
Acting on stage is just like an acid test for actor Rajesh Puri who rose to fame with teleseries Buniyaad. “I love doing theatre as performing in front of live audience is an acid test,” stated NSD passout who was in Chandigarh to promote his show Kaala Teeka being aired on Zee TV.
He is currently seen with grey shades in the show. Excited about his role of Raj Purohit, Puri is happy the way his career is going on. “The show does not promote superstition instead it will lead people to raise voice against it. It is a poignant social drama that attempts to break the shackles of age-old superstitions and endeavors to create awareness amongst the masses” he affirmed and added, “It is a story of two young girls in Mithila, Bihar, whose lives are entwined by an act of superstition.
The show captures the journey of a girl child Kaali who is treated as a human Kaala Teeka for another child Gauri and is expected to shadow her everywhere for the well-being of the latter. It also presents the worst form of superstitions – personification. The series showcases Kaali’s journey of hope as she overcomes these challenges and enables Gauri to find her true self.”
Puri who had portrayed all types of role till now just want to do meaty characters in future that could be in any language. He would soon be seen in Hindi films which he refused to disclose at this point of time.
