The world of vision

From the time immortal there lies a bridge between the beginning and end. This bridge is an ongoing process.  pre-historic character have established a contour through a flowing evolution. The contour which is ever changing, depending on environment and nature. These are evident in both physical and metaphysical aspects. But the spirit remains eternal.

A mutilated fundamental entity results in detachment and destruction from the <g data-gr-id="49">main-land</g>.  Our dream revolves around that very spirit,  save some external modifications. Banerjee is an architect of that venture. Apparently it seems though that the sculptures and drawings are mercy <g data-gr-id="54">pre-historic</g> in nature and reflection.  An intense study of the same portrays it as a link between the two ends. In a <g data-gr-id="48"><g data-gr-id="56">nut-shell</g></g> it’s art for art’s sake, vibrant with <g data-gr-id="57"><g data-gr-id="46">a esthetic</g></g> beauty.

For Banerjee, drawing is an essential form of <g data-gr-id="52">self expression</g>. He understood that drawing is not just taking notes of what the artist sees with his eyes, but also with his third eye. The world of vision and of fantasy, the conscious and the <g data-gr-id="47">sub-conscious</g> influences the artist. Drawing shows how an idea is born in the artist’s mind, the innate possibilities of the concept at the embryo <g data-gr-id="50">stage,as</g> it begins to grow naturally.

Tanmay’s world has frozen scenes that sometimes depict Neolithic rural life or hark back to Mesolithic primitive times. Some of the protagonists might be <g data-gr-id="45">clothed</g> but one or two appear nude. As in cave painting, a figure might be drawn over another. People are always there with domesticated animals.

A normal pastoral scene gains momentum when one of the figures appear in the nude. One begins to wonder what difference would it make if we went around in Adam’s swear. Tanmay’s lines dance to the tune of unheard music. They are never nervous, but always bold, strong and fluid. They move from dark tone to lighter ones and gradually reach the final stage of white.

They sometimes move into a calligraphic world. At <g data-gr-id="40">times</g> he enhances the linear movements by adding shades and areas of corresponding darkness. This is a world of reality that is tinged with fantasy.
