The weekend festival Dilli Haat Utsav at Dilli Haat, Janak Puri was marked by the musical performance of Ashok Mastie on Sunday. Delhi Tourism in collaboration with Department of Art, Culture and Languages has been organising the Dilli Haat Utsav. This festival not only to promote cultural tourism but also ushers in a new wave of vibrancy in the city.

Audiences present at the venue were enthralled by the melodious music performance of Mastie. The evening began with an elaborate cultural presentation, which included dance in praise of Lord Ganesha followed by a choir group performance by school children of MRV School. Different dance groups and singers also showcased their talent.

This was yet another staged presentation by Punjabi Academy at the amphitheatre of the venue. Saturday witnessed Bhangra and Gidda along with music performance by Sunny Singh and Parveen Sharma at the same place. The concept of Dilli Haat Utsav has offered people just the right dose of weekend entertainment. Every weekend is a celebration and takes the people far away to a land of entertainment and cultural delight - Dilli Haat.

Dilli Haat Utsav is geared up for more such weekends to come and is scheduled to continue with the same zeal till 31 March, 2015. Institutions like Sahitya Kala Parishad, Hindi Academy, Urdu Academy, Punjabi Academy etc. will continue to host cultural shows for the audience.

The initiative to make every weekend as animated and lively has also given an exclusive platform to new and seasoned artistes to showcase their talent. After the weekly dose of entertainment, people relished delicious and delectable food items from various cuisines in the country. An elaborate presentation and sale of handicraft and handlooms items was also there to satisfy visitors’ shopping appetite.
