The Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre in collaboration with ICCR and Times of India presented a concert by the world famous Kákics Ensemble from Hungary at  second World Percussion Festival on Sunday, 23 November at Nehru Park, Chanakyapuri, in the Capital.

The musicians will be on an India tour and will perform at Dehradun, after the Delhi’s concert.
The Kákics Folk Ensemble was founded in 1997. The band is well known among the Hungarian folk music enthusiasts for its regular concerts and folk dance events. The ensemble made several tours in Ecuador, Peru, Italy, Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Sweden, and Norway with a great success.

Their songs are usually accompanied by specific musical instruments of the original times, known as Hungarian peasant instruments of the old traditions.

The band has a diverse repertoire. Apart from the chants of poor young men who fled from military service, choosing the outlaws fate, the ensemble also plays the songs having contemporary and eternal words of folk traditions that permit the audience to enter the world of Hungarian peasants.
