Thaworn wins Order of Merit, Bhullar best Indian

Rising golfer Gaganjeet Bhullar was the best-placed Indian at fifth in the Asian Tour Order of Merit, which was topped by Thai veteran Thaworn Wiratchant for a second time in his career.

Wiratchant, who played all 25 events on the Asian Tour this season, started the final event of the season USD 25,000 ahead of his nearest rival.

But going into the final day of the truncated Iskandar Johor Open, he knew he could still be beaten as he was two shots behind Australian Marcus Fraser.

Thaworn, seemed to have settled the fight within the first few holes. He finished his third and final round at seven-under 65 and ended at 11-under 205 for tied fifth eventually.

He picked up USD 60,440 and finished with a total of 738,046, while Fraser, tied for 21st to earn USD 20,400 for the week and aggregate USD 672,744 for second place.

Bhullar was the top Indian after his tied 21st finish fetched him USD 20,400 and gave him a total of USD 451,245 and a fifth place.
