Teen forced into sex trade rescued in Delhi

A 17-year-old girl hailing from West Bengal was rescued from a house at Kotla Mubarkpur in south Delhi on Friday.  She was brought to the national capital on the pretext of job but was being forced into sex trade. According to sources, the girl was rescued after an NGO informed the police about her.

She hails from West Bangal’s 24 Pargana district. She told police that one Shabir  brought her to Delhi and sold her to one Ataiar Rehman.

The girl’s parents had lodged a missing complaint in West Bengal, following which a team of West Bengal police laid a trap in Kotla Mubarakpur area and rescued the girl. Rehman kept the victim in a dingy room on the third floor of the house. She was subjected to physical and mental abuse and forced to submit herself to sexual exploitation.

She was forced to attend 5-6 ‘clients’ per day and was told that she will get a minimum amount of Rs 10,000 per month. She shared the room with two other girls.

The victim has told that their limbs were tied with ropes at night to prevent them from escaping. The victim endured this torture for 22 days.

The accused Rehman and his wife Ainnu Bibi have been arrested by the West Bengal police.

Rehman  also hails from West Bengal and has a wife and two children.
