Technical snag in chopper forces Sonia to wait for 90 mins

Congress president Sonia Gandhi was forced to wait for over 90 minutes at Ranchi airport after her chopper developed a technical snag, just before she was scheduled to take off to address an election rally at Patamda block in Jugsalai assembly segment, 150km from here. She arrived at the airport at 1.15pm in a special flight from Delhi and was scheduled to take off at 1.30pm when the pilot detected the snag.

Congress state spokesperson Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo said that a different chopper was arranged for her to go to Patamda. “She was finally able to take off from here at 3.05 pm,” said Shahdeo.
Congress has hired two choppers for campaigns during the assembly elections in the state. Jugsalai assembly segment goes to polls in the second phase of elections on December 2.
