Techie murder: Pune Police on the lookout for another suspect

The Pune Police are on the lookout for a youth who was reported to be a close friend of Antara Das, the Kolkata-based software engineer who was killed in Pune recently.

In a gruesome attack, as described by an eyewitness, the 23-year-old software engineer was stabbed multiple times and was seen running on a road in Pune last Friday night, possibly to lose her attacker.

She was taken to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead.

Das, an employee of a major IT firm, left her office in Tathwade area on the outskirts around Pune at 8 pm and decided to not take the office cab.

Her company told police that Das wrote in the official register that she would take an auto instead.

Meanwhile, a source in the Pune Police confirmed that the suspected youth was acquainted to Antara much before Santosh Kumar, who is also a suspect in the case. “This new suspected youth used to chat with Antara through WhatsApp and Facebook,” the source said.
