Teacher held for harassing student

A teacher was arrested on the charges of giving indecent proposals to a girl student. The accused Subhojit Bhattacharya had been giving some indecent proposals to his student over phone. As the situation was going beyond control, the victim gathered courage to tell her family members about the incident. The victim is a resident of Narkeldanga area. The victim’s family members lodged a complaint with the Narkeldanga police station against Bhattacharya. On the basis of the compliant the police have arrested the accused from his house on Sunday.

It may be mentioned that in the last three days there were many such incidents in which the teachers were arrested on the charges of molestation. Two teachers were arrested from two different places in the state on charges of molesting girl students.

Asim Sarkar, a teacher from Vidyamandir Primary School in Birati had been arrested on the basis of the complaint lodged by the family members of a student at Airport police station. Family members of the victim alleged that the accused used to abuse the students. Police came to know in the interrogation that the accused had repeatedly abused the girl students of the school. In a separate incident a teacher of a residential school in Malda was arrested for molesting girl students of the school. On the basis of the two complaints lodged by the relatives of two students police have arrested the teacher. The accused Debkanta Mondal is a teacher of the residential school which was set up by his father Nemai Mondal who is a station manager of Harishchandrapur in Malda. The school is located in the same, hardly 2 kms away from the railway station.

Two days ago a similar kind of incident had happened in Burdwan’s Katwa when a school teacher was arrested on the charges of molesting a student.
