Tea garden worker murdered, one arrested

Tension gripped the Maynaguri area in Siliguri on Wednesday morning following the recovery of the dead body of a tea garden worker. Police said that Shyamal Mondal who was attached to a tea garden in Maynaguri was found lying on the road with several injuries on his body. Police suspect that one Titiru Goyala might be involved in the murder. The accused had stabbed Shyamal to death when he was going to tea garden this morning. Local people told the police that accused attacked the victim at Ramsarai area when he was going to his workplace. Titiru had repeatedly stabbed him. The victim fell on the ground and was later declared brought dead after being taken to the hospital. Police have arrested the accused on the basis of a complaint lodged by victim’s family members. They are yet to ascertain the motive behind the murder.
