Tata Motors sells 49,304 units in May

Tata Motors reported 23.37 per cent decline in total vehicle sales at 49,304 units in May 2013.
The company had sold 64,347 units in the same month last year, Tata Motors said in a statement.
Due to the sluggish demand in the market, total passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market stood at 11,134 units in May, down 45.69 per cent from 20,503 units in the same month last year.
In the commercial vehicles segment, the company’s sales dropped by 13.44 per cent to 34,296 units in the domestic market during the month under review compared to 39,625 units in the corresponding period last year.
The company’s exports dropped by 8.17 per cent to 3,874 units last month from 4,219 units in the same month last year, it added.
