Tariq Anwar hails possible tie-up between RJD and JD (U) in Bihar

Observing that all secular parties will have to unite to contain communal forces, NCP on Sunday said the likelihood of RJD and JD(U) coming together to stop BJP from coming to power in Bihar was a step in right direction.
RJD and JD(U) are likely to join forces in Bihar to take on the resurgent BJP and it is a ‘good omen’ for the unity of the secular forces at the national level in the long run, NCP general secretary Tariq Anwar told reporters here.
The growth of BJP-led communal forces’ will definitely be contained if all secular forces come under one platform in Bihar and at the national level, he said.
On political situation in Bihar, he said the Jitan Ram Manjhi government enjoyed majority and faced no threat to its survival.
Anwar, who was union minister of state in the UPA government, slammed NDA’s general and railway budgets and said the Centre failed to pay heed to aspirations of Bihar and its people.
In a jibe at PM Modi’s ‘achche din’ assurance, he said the government’s policies and programmes did not augur well for the people and the country. Anwar took to task the NDA government for failing to contain price rise and inflation. With the spectre of drought looming in large parts of the country, including Bihar.
