Tapas Paul’s CBI custody extended by three days

The Criminal Bureau of Investigation (CBI) have got another three days to interrogate Trinamool Congress MP Tapas Paul as his custody to the central investigating agency has been extended for another three days when produced before the Khurda Court.

This comes at the time when CBI questioned Paul’s daughter Sohini. This is the second time when she was interrogated.

Paul complained of ill health when CBI produced him before the Court on Tuesday.

At the beginning of the hearing itself, the judge asked Paul if he wants to say something.

In reply Paul said: “I am not well. I had an accident in Pandua. My father was a doctor and I have cracks in the C-5 vertebrae. My three nerves were damaged and I have multiple health related problems. You will get to know if you ask about my health to doctors from Kolkata. I once even fell inside Rajdhani Express and received injuries.”

He further said that his wife always accompanies him. The Court also asked him whether CBI had made necessary arrangements for his treatment. 

The judge had allowed him to sit.After hearing counsels of both the defence and CBI the Court extended the CBI custody of Paul for another three days.
