Sur Aradhana fetes actors and singers

Sur Aradhana recently celebrated the 100th year of Indian cinema by organising an awards ceremony that was held at Siri Fort Auditorium. Some gems from the film and music industry were honoured by the chief guest, former union minister and JPC chairman Dr Murli Manohar Joshi.

Renowned actor Anupam Kher, recognised for his successful performances in several international projects, became the recipient of the Global Versatile Actor Award. Director, producer and actor Dheeraj Kumar received the Lifetime Achievement Award for contribution to Indian cinema. Other honoured artists were  Bappi Lahiri, Lalit Pandit, Dr L. Subramaniam, Kavita Krishnamurti, Richa Sharma, Swanand Kirkire, Ashok Masti and Raju Shrivastav.

Singers Shabab Sabri of Humka Peeni Hai and Chalao Na Naino Se Baan Re fame and Palak Muchhal were awarded the ‘Upcoming Artists Award’. The audience had a gala time rejoicing in the lively spirit created by the scintillating live performances which touched a crescendo when their favourite artistes made them sing and dance.

The audience stood up when legendary music composer and singer Bappi Lahiri sang Yaad aa Raha Hai Tera Pyar. Popular comedian Raju Shrivastav took the audience on a laugh riot.

On this occasion renowned astrologer Pawan Goel ‘Rai Sahib’ was awarded with Jyotish Ratan and AVJ Group Director Vinay Jain honored with Emerging Builder of Delhi-NCR by Dr Joshi.
