CABBAGE THROAN Stir fried cabbage with coconut
Coconut 200 gm
Dried red chilli 2 pc
Mustard seeds ½ tsp
Onion/Shallots 150 gm
Ginger 10 gm
Green chillies 4 nos
Curry leaves few sprigs
Turmeric powder a pinch
Red chillies powder a pinch
Salt to taste
Lemon juice (optional) 1 lemon
Wash and shred the cabbage. Grate the coconut in a coconut grater. Peel, wash and slice the onion. Peel, wash and make juliennes of ginger. Wash and remove the stem of green chillies and slit. Wash and pat dry curry leaves.
Add the the mustard seeds in coconut oil until the crackling sound follows, and then add whole red chillies, curry leaves, shallots, slit green chillies and ginger juliennes.
Add the cabbage, turmeric powder and salt. Sauté on high flame.
When the cabbage is sautéed well finish with grated coconut.
