Sudip lashes out against CPI(M)

Trinamool Congress MP Sudip Bandopadhyay on Saturday urged Suryakanta Misra and Mohammad Selim not to spread canard against Trinamool Congress and not to incite violence.

Bandopadhyay said Misra had said that CPI(M) would provide security to Mamata Banerjee after May 19 when election results were out BUT instead he and his colleagues would not be able to face journalists after  poll results were declared.

Lashing out at the alliance he said when CPI(M) leaders were taking about alliance of the people, Left  Front partners were struggling hard to keep their existence intact. “Suryababu will become insignificant after the election,” he said.

Bandopadhyay who defeated Mohammad Selim in Kolkata North seat said “He has a big mouth and an empty vessel always makes more sounds.”

He said the residents of Kolkata had seen how CPI(M) had conducted elections. The violence of 1990 Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) election is still fresh in mind and with this backdrop “ People laugh when they hear  words like free and fair election  from Misra and Selim.”

He said Misra had asked why Banerjee was travelling in a helicopter.” It seems that he is seeing for the first time, the Chief Minister of a state travelling by a helicopter for poll campaign.”

He urged the Opposition parties to ensure that elections were held in peaceful environment. Six Trinamool supporters had been murdered before the polls and  this was uncalled for.
