Student killed by teenage friend

A 15-year-old school boy was allegedly bludgeoned to death by his <g data-gr-id="23">teenaged</g> friend who was angry over his friendship with a girl, in South Delhi’s Fatehpur Beri area, police said on Wednesday.

The body of victim Anand was found from a wooded area in Fatehpur Beri on Sunday, a day after his father had reported about his disappearance to the police.

The boy, a student of class IX, was missing from his home in Sultanpur Estate in Fatehpur Beri area. Police started looking for him after registering a case of kidnapping, said a senior police officer.

During <g data-gr-id="27"><g data-gr-id="28">investigation</g></g> it was found that Anand was seen with his friend, a class X student, before his disappearance.

During questioning, his juvenile friend broke down and admitted killing Anand with an iron rod in the wooded area near a farmhouse. He was apprehended and sent to a juvenile home, the officer said. Both Anand and the accused juvenile attended computer class where they knew a girl. 

The accused was angry with Anand for befriending a girl of the class whom he adored, said the officer.

The accused also told police that he had threatened Anand to keep off the <g data-gr-id="29">girl</g> but he continued to get close to her at which he planned to kill him.

Finally, he accompanied Anand to the secluded area near a farmhouse where he had already hidden an iron rod. 

He admitted hitting him on the head and fleeing from the spot. The body of Anand was recovered from the spot on the instance of accused, added the officer.
