Strenghthening the international bonds

The Embassy of Turkmenistan in collaboration with Jamia Millia Islamia University, MEA GoI, ICCR, Indo-Turkmen Friendship Society, India Habitat Centre and others are holding a half day International Scientific Conference & Cultural Event celebrating the 290th Anniversary of The Great Turkmen Poet Magtymguly Pyragy.
Magtymguly, a sufi-philosopher and a leading scholar of his time is widely referred to as the founder of Turkmen poetry, literature and Turkmen modern literary language. His works were influenced by ancient western philosophers and great eastern thinkers and poets like Omar Khayyam, Hafiz, Nesimi, Firdausi, Nizami, Rumi and others, to name a few. And despite the long distance he mentioned India in about 40 of his poems.
The event will also see Ambassador of Turkmenistan Parakhat H Durdyev.
Performing live at the event award winning singer Rashmi Agarwal is all set to enthrall the audiences with Sufi and Ghazal compositions alongside other Turkmen folk music artists.
