Still worried what to wear?

Hi. I am a 25-year-old female. I have recently joined office where I need to be in my formals. I have a petite frame otherwise, except for a heavy bottom and heavier hips. Please suggest stylish formals for my body type.

It’s very important to celebrate your body type, and a very good example of my statement can be Vidya Balan. Well, I feel cropped and high waisted trousers can be your true friends. And your upper wear should be long enough to cover your hips. As for a heavier bottom, I guess a bit of exercise can solve your problems. For a more edgier look you can also team a jacket with your cropped trousers.

Being an athlete by profession and because of those excessive hours at gym, my body has somehow become masculine. How do I look feminine? What would be the right silhouette for my body type?

Well, you should be happy that you have a super toned body unlike many. A bit of feminine shades and silhouettes can play the trick. You can choose to show those toned legs in a skinny jeans teamed with a sexy top, or can stick to short dresses with an interesting back. A flowy maxi-dress can also do wonders for you, accentuate it with a belt to show off your toned waist. Dusky pink, corel, peach can be your colours.

I love to wear strappy sandals. Can you please suggest what kind of strappy sandals should I team with my Indian wear?

Strappy sandals mean a lot of exposure to the sun. The first advice will be to take good care of your feet. Sunblock should be your friend, and a strict no no to chipped nail-paint and broken nails. And as for Indian wear, these days not only designers but normal shops has also come up with Swarovski studded sandals, which look dainty. You can also go for elaborate straps done up with beads and other chunky metal pieces.  And a well taken care of soft toe is a must.

I bought a pair of canary yellow patent leather stilettos recently. Please suggest me, how to team them for maximum effect.

I am so much in love with this yellow colour. It reminds me of a sunny day, bright weather and an ever brighter smile. Well, neon is a bang on trend this season. Just remember less is more for neon! Monotones for clothes can be your perfect partner with those stilettos.  With skinny trousers and  a formal top you can wear them to office as well. But please don’t take an effort to match them with your outfit.

I  have an old Bollywood  themed mehendi ceremony coming up for a friend’s wedding. Can I have some exciting options of ensembles other than lehenga-choli?

Well, any yesteryear actress can be your inspiration for this. You can very well stick to an embellished top & a sharara [ Salma Aga style], which allows easy movement and ensure comfort as well. A draped saree can also be an option.
