Test is done and dusted; will like to move on, say Smith, Rahane

Looking to put behind the bitterness of the recently concluded India-Australia Test series, Rising Pune Supergiant captain Steve Smith and Indian vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane said on Thursday that they are looking forward to the Indian Premier League season 10 and were confident of having a good season together.

"I'm privileged to be leading this side and since I've been here for long, I feel confident and with support from the team and staff, I hope to have a fulfilling season," said Smith and Rahane echoed his words, adding, "After a good Test series, I look forward to give my best and perform well for my team."

On being asked if the ghosts of the Test series will haunt the Pune dressing room, team owner Sanjiv Goenka said, "The Test is over and the team is united. We are looking forward to competing as a team and put up a good act together."

On the other hand, Rahane said, "I believe in living in the present. That's my mantra and so I'm only looking at performing well in the IPL."

Rising Pune Supergiant are a team with three leaders — Steve Smith, Ajinkya Rahane and MS Dhoni. On being asked if that will be a hindrance, Smith said, "It's actually great to have so many captains around and drawing from everyone's experience will be the idea. It's a big plus I believe.

" Former Australian spinner Kerry O' Keefe had recently said that Smith isn't temperamentally fit to captain the national team to which Smith retorted, "He's entitled to his opinion but he doesn't know what's under the shed. We're good."

Away from all the controversy, Ben Stokes said, "I'm looking forward to the exposure I'll receive in the IPL, being around top players from all over the world. I look to do well and take this T20 experience home."
