Team India reaches Vizag for 2nd ODI

Visakhapatnam: The Indian cricket team touched down at Visakhapatnam airport on Monday morning, just hours after wrapping up a comfortable victory against the Windies on Sunday night.

The Virat Kohli-led team got a rousing reception at the airport where a large crowd had gathered to catch a glimpse of the players as they boarded the team bus.

India and West Indies will play the second ODI at Vizag cricket stadium on Wednesday (October 24).

Spinners did the job for India in the first ODI, but pacer trio of Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav and Khaleel Ahmed picked up just three wickets in their assigned quota of 30 overs while going for 209 runs. Kohli has to remain contend with these three fast bowlers as there is no other pacer in squad announced for the first two ODIs. At best, one of the three fast bowlers could be benched for Kuldeep Yadav.

Meanwhile, it seems like Rohit Sharma is in blistering form as far as limited overs format is concerned. He is knocking out the big tallies for India more often than not to surpass the records on a regular basis.

Coming to the story, the latest record broken by Rohit Sharma

was owned by cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar and David Warner previously.

The classy Mumbaikar knocked an unbeaten 152* against Windies on Sunday night. The new tally moved him ahead of Sachin Tendulkar and David Warner, who hold the record for most number of 150+ scores in ODI cricket.

Sachin Tendulkar has called the curtains on the game while David Warner is currently serving the ban imposed on him. It means that the record will be safe with Rohit for a long time.

The other cricketers to be within the range of the record are Chris Gayle, Hashim Amla, and Jacques Kallis. With Kallis already quitting the game, Hashim Amla and Gayle might be the competitors to take over from Rohit.

West Indian bowlers struggled with the line and failed to take wickets.

"Credit to Kohli and Rohit for taking the game away from us. Hopefully we can play better in the second game," he added.

Not many changes are expected in the either side. India would not want to meddle with the winning combination but one change is expected.

Left-arm chinaman Kuldeep Yadav could be drafted in place of Umesh Yadav if the conditions are conducive for spin. Windies could field the same playing XI.
