Atwal, Sung Kang among the leaders at Quicken Loans National
Indian golfer Arjun Atwal and South Korea's Sung Kang are among the leaders in the third round of the Quicken Loans National, a PGA Tour event. The 44-year-old Atwal, for his part, was having one of the best weeks of his career at the TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm golf course here on Saturday and currently sits at five-under par with eight holes completed in the third round, reports Efe. Sung Kang, who fired a four-under 66 on Thursday and a one-under 69 on Friday, was at five-under on Saturday after making two birdies and a pair of bogeys through nine holes of his third round.
The 87th-ranked Sung Kang fired birdies on the par-4 fifth and sixth holes but also made a bogey on the par-3 third hole and another on the par-3 ninth. Both players are within striking distance of the leader, Sweden's David Lingmerth, who is 2-over through seven holes on Saturday but eight-under for the tournament. American Daniel Summerhays is at seven-under and alone in second place. The tournament is hosted by Tiger Woods and benefits his foundation, although the American golfing great is absent because he is currently undergoing treatment for use of prescription drugs.
