I have won a Challenger recently, Rohan hasn't won anything, says Leander Paes

India's most experienced tennis player, Leander Paes, was on Thursday dropped from the Davis Cup squad for the upcoming Asia/Oceania zone group 1, second round tie, against Uzbekistan. The reason given for the 43-year old's axing is his recent form. While Paes has accepted the verdict of new non-playing captain Mahesh Bhupathi, he gave a tongue in cheek response when asked about his exclusion. Speaking to a private news channel, Paes said he was a 'bit confused' by the reason given for his axing.

In his response, he targeted Bhupathi's decision to include Rohan Bopanna at his expense. Paes won his first title of the season earlier this month, combining with Canadian Adil Shamasdin to lift the Leon Challenger Tour tennis tournament's men's doubles trophy after a straight-set triumph in the final. Paes though went on to say that every captain has his own style of working and that it was important to have the best team out there.
