Speeding car crushes father, son to death

A seven-year-old boy and his father crushed to death by a speeding car on Sunday morning in Madhu Vihar area of east Delhi.

They were crossing the road with other family members when they met with the accident. Police has registered a case against the errant car driver, who has been  arrested.

Police said, the deceased, identified as Rishi (30), had reached Delhi in the morning itself, along with his wife  Premwati, son Ajay (7), and daughters Saloni and Choti. The family, which had come from Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh, was to meet some relatives. Around 5 am, they reached the Anand Vihar Bus Terminal.

While crossing the road number 56, they were hit by a speeding Alto car. Other members of the family were also seriously injured in the mishap. They were rushed to the Guru Teg bahadur Hospital, where Rishi and Ajay were declared dead on arrival. Premwati, Saloni and Choti are undergoing treatment. The condition of Premwati and Saloni is said to be critical.

Errant car driver Narender Kumar, a resident of Harsh Vihar, has been arrested. The car was going towards Dilshad Garden when the accident took place.
