Special Cell busts international drug cartel, 9 arrested

The Delhi Police Special Cell arrested nine members of an international drug cartel including one Afghan national and three Nigerian nationals with around Rs 7 crore drugs including 6.425 kg heroin, 2 kg opium and 1 kg alprazolam. Four luxury cars along with 14 mobiles used in drug trafficking have also been recovered.

The arrested persons have been identified as Harjinder Singh (28), resident of Punjab, Durgesh (33), resident of Delhi, Ubah Casmir Amobi (35), resident of Delhi, Abu Bakr (28), Punjab, Mohd Akhtar (31), Delhi, Shabir Ahmed Bhat (38), resident of Delhi, Ezeh Chinedu Joseph (34), and Ugo Geoffery Franklin (39), both residents of Nigeria and Hazi Imamudin (50) from Delhi.

On November 18, a raid was conducted and a consignment of 2 kg heroin was recovered. Mangal and Harjinder Singh were arrested along with one Verna car and four mobile phones. On interrogation they disclosed that they indulge in drug trafficking in Delhi, UP, Rajasthan, J&K and Punjab.
