SP manifesto promises all-round development

The party which released its poll manifesto for the Lok  Sabha elections here on Wednesday also promised to set up ‘Sarvan’(Upper caste) Commission to recommend ways to uplift the poor of the upper caste beside reservation to the Muslims would be made as per their population.

The SP manifesto was released by party president Mulayam Singh Yadav in the presence of chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, party leaders Ram Gopal Yadav, Azam Khan, Kiranmay Nanda ,several ministers and other leaders of the party here at the party headquarters.

The party, in its 24-page manifesto, said all education from primary to higher level including engineering and medical in the country would be made free while the retirement age of the government and court  employees,teachers and judges would be raised to 65 years. The lawyers, attaining an age of 70 years would receive government pension and if they die before that then the family members would receive a compensation of Rs 5 lakh.

Mulayam Singh Yadav said the party’s manifesto had given focus to the agriculture sector and priority to the international relationship. ‘The rate of the food grains should be fixed at one and a half time of the cost price of the product,’ he said while adding that India has lost all its international friends due to the wrong international policy of the present government.

‘China and other countries are ahead of India just due  to their focus on agriculture sector,’ he said.
Yadav said due to his effort during the last government in UP, naxalite menace was totally eradicated in UP.  ‘Dialogue and solving their problems are the only way to control and connect them with society,’ he said.

Stressing on the reservation issue, the party said it should also be implemented in the private sector besides the officials refusing to obey the reservation policy should be punished.

The SP manifesto resolve to implement the Sacchar  Committee recommendations for the Muslim welfare. The party also announced that urdu median schools will be opened in the Muslim dominated area, free coaching to Muslim student and 15 per cent jobs would be reserved for Muslims in police. ‘The party will go for amendment in the Constitution to provide reservation in jobs as per their population,’ Ram Gopal Yadav said while adding that false cases against Muslim youth would be withdrawn.
