Sovandeb Chatterjee inaugurates 3 trams at Nonapukur depot

In a unique move, the Calcutta Tram Corporation (CTC) has decided to run three trams across the city to express gratitude to the people in the city on the occasion of the victory of Trinamool Congress with an overwhelming majority in the recently concluded assembly elections.

The trams decorated with flowers and banners, were inaugurated by senior Trinamul Congress leader Sovandeb Chatterjee at Nonapukur tram depot on Friday. 

The trams will travel through various places expressing thanks and gratitude to the people in the city who had cast their votes in favour of development.

Chatterjee,who later in the day got the important portfolio of power ministry after inaugurating the trams said that the initiative was taken to express the gratitude to the people of the state without whose support the victory would not be possible. 

The trams were plied near the Red Road where the oath-taking ceremony was going on.  

When the new member of Mamata Banerjee cabinet was asked about his reaction after being selected as a cabinet minister, Chatterjee said that he has been working for the party with utmost sincerity and dedication for a long time and he has been rewarded for this.
