South MCD starts online facility for license application

Announcing the simplification process of general trade licence application, South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Monday started an online licence facility in its area. With this initiative, traders applying for license will be benefited as it will reduce the need for them to be physically present at various offices of Corporation. Subhash Arya, Mayor of the SDMC, said the move will also help in reducing corruption as it will end the ‘Inspector Raj’. “By the implementation of this service, the citizens pursuing commercial/professional activities can get license without coming to the municipal body as they will be able to generate it online. We have planned a massive publicity drive to create awareness amongst the stakeholders regarding the new initiatives,” added Arya. Leader of House Ashish Sood said from now onwards traders can get license by the clicking on the mouse rather than going to CSB centres and Corporation offices. He also echoed Arya’s thoughts on the complete removal of ‘Inspector Raj’. This will be applicable in both the cases, whether for one year or three years trade/storage license and it will be non-refundable. Now after simplification the Corporation will now issue licence to general traders by online method in a much more simplified way.
