South corporation tightens noose on illegal constructions

South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has tightened noose on illegal constructions in the area. Thousands of illegal constructions have been sealed since June. As per the records of the corporation, 301 unauthorised constructions were booked, 149 were sealed or demolished, and 111ongoing constructions were partly demolished, only in November. ‘We are committed to contain illegal and unauthorised constructions in the area and strict directions have been issued to deputy commissioners to conduct the drive and take on the spot action in the case of ongoing constructions,’ said Rajesh Gehlot, chairman of Standing Committee with SDMC. ‘The action against illegal constructions will continue and the drive will also be conducted in future to contain mushrooming builders in the area,’ added Gehlot. As per the records, over 1,443 demolition orders have been executed since June.
