Sounds of the gods
After three days of soul stirring renderings invoking the message of the Guru Granth Sahib, the Gurbani Sangeet Samagam ended on Sunday with three beautiful performances.
The last day (20 April) saw performances by Ragi Baljit Singh from Delhi, Barkat Sindhu from Moga and Bhai Gurmeet Singh Shant from Jalandhar. They were the part of the nine spiritual singers who mesmerized the audience over three days at the Talkatora Gardens here.
The three-day kirtan durbar was presented by the Punjabi Academy, in association with Department of Art, Culture, and Languages, Government of Delhi. The event brought for the people of the capital an experience with the sacred verses coinciding with the birth anniversaries of two of the most revered Sikh Gurus - Guru Angad Dev and Guru Teg Bahadur.
The sacred teachings of the Gurus and the path of righteousness shown by them are not just a source of guidance for the Sikh community but a message for the entire humanity. And what better way to honor the message of our revered Gurus than to recite their words and exhort others to follow them.
