Soon, AIIMS, JNU to launch journal on cardiovascular sciences

In a bid to bridge the gap between the practical and theoretical aspects of cardiovascular sciences, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS) in collaboration with the School of Life Sciences of Jawaharlal Nehru University(JNU) will launch a lab journal, an official said.

The journal, named Practice of Cardiovascular Sciences, will also focus on improving the teaching methods and the clinical implementation of the subject in every medical colleges of the country.

“This is going to be a great solution for the gap that has prevailed till now in terms of cardiovascular sciences and its implementation. It will encourage close links between clinicians and basic scientists,” said Sandeep Seth, professor of cardiology at AIIMS, at a pre launch conference at the institute.

According to the surveys by health organisations, over 30 percent of patients suffering from cardiac diseases die due to wrong treatment.

SK Goswami, professor of Life Sciences at JNU, said that this journal will also encourage the young students to further research on the subject and come up with innovations in the subject.
