Sonia struggles to free her shawl stuck to her purse’s zip

Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday faced a strange problem in the Lok Sabha when her shawl got stuck in the zip of her purse during an intense and heated debate over the Motion of Thanks to the President for his address to the joint sitting of Parliament.

Seeing his leader struggling to free her grey-coloured shawl from the zip of her purse, Mallikarjun Kharge offered help, which Gandhi readily accepted. Kharge, the leader of the party in the Lok Sabha, too struggled hard and finally managed to free the shawl.

Gandhi looked at her shawl and appeared relieved that it was not damaged in the process. 

The House also witnessed a mild uproar when Rahul Gandhi got up and started moving towards the exit. “You don’t want to listen,” said BJP member Pralhad Joshi who was making a speech critical of the opposition party. He was joined by his other party colleagues who wanted Gandhi to listen to Joshi’s speech.
