Sonam Kapoor crosses 8 million followers on Twitter

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo actor Sonam Kapoor has crossed eight million followers on microblogging site Twitter.

Sonam, known for her unabashed way of expressing her opinions on the social media and otherwise, thanked her fans for their constant support.

“And the twitter family is 8 million strong! Thanks for all the support you guys! Tons of love,” she posted.

The 30-year-old actor, who joined Twitter in 2009, lags behind by her arch-rival Deepika Padukone by a huge margin of more than four million. She is also behind Priyanka Chopra, who has a huge fan following of 12.1 million. 

The Raanjhanaa star is, however, ahead of Alia Bhatt, Parineeti Chopra and Shraddha Kapoor. 

She will be seen essaying the role of Neerja Bhanot in the movie Neerja which is about an air hostess, who died saving 349 passengers on board in a flight bound to the United States.
