Sneak in to the 'Manga Cafe'

We have always had our own set of comics and heroes. But Japanese comics - manga - are slowly getting popular among enthusiasts in Delhi.

So a Manga Cafe is officially being launched in association with the Japan Foundation. There will be a week long event till 29 May, where people can come, lounge around on the colourful bean bags, enjoy reading mangas and also watch manga characters come alive in the screenings of popular manga series made into movies (often called anime). The cafe is an initiation to showcase Japanese popular culture in India.

Unlike Western comics, manga is not entirely focused or targeted towards children. It deals with social ideas and life of the Japanese.

The Manga Cafe in Hauz Khas will give one a platform to explore the formal history and different influences on the avatars. In other words, the history of manga/anime will be the highlight of the gallery.

The central motif here is to highlight the writers and also the influence of manga in the world of gaming. mangas have definitive influence on pop-culture across the world such as the Naruto, Gundamn, and Monster series.

The manga space will also display books, magazines and materials from genres that are part of Japanese pop-culture. Manga Cafe with its uber new concept is about providing a space to encourage and welcome readers of all age groups to come and interact, discover and explore the world of Manga.

It also runs a cine gallery in association with Cinedarbaar and the Japan Foundation at 13 Basement, Haus Khas Village.

So if you are fond of comics, animation and gaming, you should surely give this one a chance.
