IPS officer SMH Mirza was interrogated for the second consecutive day on Thursday in connection with the sting operation of Narada News. An officer of the Special Investigation Team (CIT) that was formed to probe into the incident questioned Mirza for around four and a half hours on Thursday. Mirza reached the city police’s headquarters at Lalbazar at around 10.50 am. Sources said that the IPS officer on Thursday submitted the details of his bank accounts. The investigating officer had placed some questions before Mirza after going through the account statements. It is learnt that he was asked to clarify some parts of the statement.
It may be mentioned that during Wednesday’s interrogation, Mirza was asked about the chief of Narada News Mathew Samuel. On Thursday, too the police officers asked some of the same questions those he was also asked on Wednesday. On Thursday, the police had also gone through the e-mail account of Mirza in his presence, source said.
It is learnt that Mirza assured all support to the police in probing into the incident and assured of coming again if the investigating officers need to talk to him again.
