Six missing trekkers located in Himachal

Six out of eight trekkers who went missing for over 50 hours in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu dictrict have been located near Chandrakhani area on Sunday. It was reported that they have been found during an aerial survey in the area. The eight engineering students went missing in bad weather in Parvati Valley near Chandrakhani Pass in Kullu district more than fifty hours ago while on a trekking trip.

Earlier on Sunday, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police formed five teams of 50 personnel for the search and rescue of the missing trekkers. The teams were launched from three directions of Patnikhal to Chandrakani, Bijli Mahadev to Chandrakani and Malana village to Chandrakani, a spokesman for the ITBP in New Delhi said, adding inclement weather was hampering search efforts. Seven students of Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET), in Longowal, Punjab, along with a former student of the same institute had left from Nagger on Thursday on a trekking trip.
