Six killed in heavy rains in Pakistan’s Sindh

At least six people, including three children, have been killed and several others injured in heavy rainfall that has lashed parts of Pakistan’s southern Sindh province, including the port city of Karachi.

The sudden downpour led to traffic jams, flooding of low-lying areas and power breakdowns in many parts of the city.

Rescue officials said that six deaths had been reported from different areas since the rains started from Saturday night. Three friends were badly injured when the wall of their house collapsed in Gadap town. He later died in the hospital.

In another incident, two boys were drowned while swimming in Sheedi Goth area of Shah Latif town here. “One of them drowned and the other survived but died today in hospital,” a rescue official said.
