SIT team grills Tharoor

Tharoor was summoned by Delhi Police on Monday afternoon to join the investigation. Earlier in the day, Tharoor was in Kerala and after landing in Delhi, he first stopped at his residence in Lodhi Estate then headed to the AATS office to join the investigation.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Prem Nath, deputy Commissioner of Police (south), PS Kushwah, Additional Commissioner of police, SHO  grilled Tharoor for  over two hours. His statements were recorded by the SIT, the source said. Along with SIT, Vivek Gogia, Joint Commissioner (south-eastern range) was also part of the team that quizzed Tharoor at the AATS office.

According to sources, Tharoor was directly questioned about the injuries that were found on Sunanda’s body. He was also quizzed on whether Sunanda used to take injections. “Did she have access to poison? Was there a scuffle that led to biting her hand? What was the issue with Mehr Tarar? What was the nature of your relationship with the Kerala-based author, because of whom you often fought with Sunanda?,” were some of the tricky questions that   were directed at Tharoor.

Moreover, Tharoor have to face few harsh questions on whether he tried to influence the autopsy report. Sunanda IPL-links or the connection with Moin Qureshi.

Sunanda died on January 17, last year and was found under mysterious circumstances at a suite in Leela Palace Hotel in Chanakyapuri.
