Sisodia announces new Teachers’ Training School in Capital

Addressing a ‘Special Session on Value and Ethics in Education’ organised by Indian Education Network here, Sisodia said that instead of value education, educational institutions should focus on “value of education” in schools and colleges.

It aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice in education.  “TTS would not only prepare excellent teachers but also prepare Teacher Educators,” he said.

According to the Deputy CM, TTS will offer 4 year integrated BA-B.Ed after class 12. It will also have two-year M.Ed, MA in Education, MA in Early Childhood Education. PhD programme and 3 Yr B.Ed-MEd after masters.

As per the planning, government will also offer evening, weekend, summer, winter diploma/degree and certificate programmes in education. “Delhi government’s Teacher Training School would have in-service certificate diploma/degree programmes for serving teachers,” Sisodia tweeted.

Addressing a programme here, the Deputy CM emphasised on focusing on “value of education” instead of value education.“In today’s scenario, our children are being prepared as a tool, resource, but value of education stands nowhere.
