Sisodia alleges CBI, ACB have been put behind AAP MLAs

In a fresh round of tussle between the Delhi government and the Centre after CBI raids in the Secretariat, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday asked the Prime Minister to agree to a probe into the controversial ‘Sahara-Birla’ diaries.

Sisodia alleged that the whole machinery (CBI, ACB, I-T and others) have been put behind AAP MLAs and the party, while the Modiji has failed to protect a government office (referring to burglary at his office).

Soon after the agency raided the office of former OSD of Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain over alleged illegal appointments, Sisodia sought to turn the tables on Prime Minister Narendra Modi by raking up the Sahara Birla papers, an issue over which he has been targeting the PM regularly. The confrontation comes a day ahead of the swearing in of former Union Home Secretary Anil Baijal as LG of Delhi. Referring to the raids on the Chief Minister’s office last December, Sisodia said just after one year, the CBI has again repeated the act — this time, it’s “our minister.”

Sisodia alleged that the whole machinery (CBI, ACB and others) have been put behind AAP MLAs and the party. Reacting strongly on the raid, he clarified that the appointment of Aggarwal was made in 2013, when Sheila Dikshit was Delhi CM.

Sisodia attacked PM Modi saying that we are not scared of any raid, as we have not done anything wrong. “You (Modi) should be scared as the papers related to your corruption are with the people.” A senior government official said it is a prerogative of the minister to appoint his OSD and that there was no irregularity involved in appointing Nikunj Aggarwal to the post.
