SIMI operative’s mother latest threat to agencies

“US President Barack Obama, who will be the chief guest for the Republic Day celebrations in India, will be the target of this terror outfit,” an official of a security agency claimed.

Mehmood is one of the five SIMI operatives, identified as Amjad Hassan, Aslam, Mohammad Ejazuddin and Zakhir, who fled from Khandwa Jail in Madhya Pradesh in early 2013.

Since then they have been shifting hide-outs and have been executing terror strikes across India including Pune Rally blast, Chennai train blast, Bijnoor accidental blast and the recent Roorkee blast near the venue where a BJP meet was to be held.

A highly-placed source in Madhya Pradesh ATS told Millennium Post: “Soon after the Bijnoor blast that went horribly wrong after the half-assembled bomb exploded in which Mehmood sustained burn injuries in his head and chest, Najma disappeared from their home in Khandwa. The inputs of various security agencies suggest that two SIMI operatives took her with them and is preparing her for a possible terror strike. She is a big threat for us.” It is believed that Najma is hiding along with her son.

The suspects’ whereabouts have been traced in Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. The state police have been informed about that and there could be a strong possibility that the terrorists were hiding there. The last location of two of the operatives happened to be Karnataka, sources said.

Shockingly, in the investigation it has been learnt that SIMI has activated its 50 sleeper cells in Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur and other parts of Western Uttar Pradesh. If sources are to be believed, these five operatives have conducted a recce in Delhi-NCR.

“These SIMI operatives have used motorcycles to conduct the recee at vulnerable areas,” the source added. Recently, a conversation between an ISI official and a handler was intercepted that says: “Unn logon ko aacha project diya hain, kuch din intezar karo (These people have been given an important project. Wait for sometime).” Late on Thursday evening, Meerut police have released photographs of these five operatives of SIMI.
