Train and road services were affected in Uttar Pradesh following 12-hour Bharat Bandh call given by the ruling Samajwadi Party, BJP, Left Parties and traders union against introduction of FDI in retail sector, diesel price hike and capping on LPG cylinders.
All the prominent markets, malls and other business establishments remained closed in the entire state. The SP, the BJP and Left Parties supporters took out processions appealing to the traders to follow the bandh call.
Schools, colleges, government offices and banks functioned normally but with thin attendence.
Train services were partially affected in the Uttar Pradesh.
