Showcasing culture in Delhi

Showcasing culture in Delhi
The adage ‘young minds can create wonders’ is best executed by Chhavi Goel and Harsh Tandon. They are the ideators of Culture Street which attempts to host an independent designer show to showcase the creativity and talents of proficient designers and artisans who do not have the required resources and capital to promote and popularise their products.

‘Designers and labels from different backgrounds will exhibit ethnic collection, Westernwear, handicrafts, gift items, home furnishing to promote their product and put it on display at the exhibition. We are trying to provide a platform to such skilled artists who cannot sponsor themselves in a grand way,’ said Chhavi Goel.

‘As the months from October onwards are marked by the advent of festivities, we chose this auspicious period to showcase our exhibition. The catch is to ensure maximum footfall and reap in positive results,’ added Chhavi.

Culture Street aims to offer best deals to the vendors who would put up their products for display and also to the audience who would come.

‘It would be a one-stop shopping experience under a single roof. Mainly featuring designers who are not as branded like others in the market. The exhibition will have only 25 stalls which would feature the best and useful products in a limited number,’ explained Harsh Tandon.

‘All the exhibitors are selected after an extensive screening. Their portfolio and profile of the products were looked upon discreetly and then chosen for display. It is to make sure that our audience would get fine quality over quantity,’ added Harsh.

Merely in their late 20s, both Harsh and Chhavi intent to represent the culture of India highly visible on the street markets, through their venture Culture Street. The initiative is also in association with the Hitaishee Foundation, NGO.

‘All the profits we would make out of the exhibition will be donated to the NGO as a token of our contribution to the welfare of the society. Interested investors can book their stalls for the exhibition,’ he says.
