Show evidence of surgical strikes to expose Pak: Cong to govt

Congress has described attacks on armed forces camp as an ‘Act of War’ against India by Pakistan. Stressing that pressure should be mounted upon Pakistan, Congress spokesperson Anand Sharma said, “Dismantling of terror infrastructure in Pak is important for any type of talks with our neighbour. They cannot be any compromise with the forces of Terror. These attacks on our bases in Pathankot, Uri, Baramulla are Acts of War against India. These are not just terror attacks.”

Reiterating that principal opposition party stands with the Indian Armed Forces in their fight against terrorism, former Union Minister said, “If the Terror Syndicate is not dismantled in Pakistan, peace in South Asia will be very difficult to achieve. The thinking that this is the first time India Army has retaliated against a terror attack is not correct. It is a disservice to our Forces. Our Armed Force have always responded as per the need or provocation when it came to defending our Mother land.”

Asked about the ongoing debate on Pakistani artists, Sharma added, “It wouldn’t be correct to equate every citizen of Pakistan including artists or sportspersons as terrorists. Currently, the atmosphere is not conducive to have people to people contact.”

Few days back army camp in Uri was also attacked by terrorists. Stating that India has its own maturity and wisdom unlike leadership in Pakistan, Sharma said, “Instead of learning from the seriousness of the situation, the Pakistan establishment still has the audacity to attack India.”

He also stressed that NDA government takes up the case of declaring Masood Azhar a terrorist with China.“We are concerned over the reports of a diversion of a tributary of the Brahmaputra. North East India needs a firm reassurance that China will continue to honour the Memorandum of Understanding which was reached between China and India in 2013.”
