Show cause notices to 37 newly inducted IAS officers

As many as 37 newly inducted IAS officers were on Monday issued show cause notices by the Centre and warned of action for missing an interactive session by Niti Aayog member Bibek Debroy recently. A total of 172 IAS officers of 2014 batch, posted as Assistant Secretaries, are working in various ministries here as part of a new initiate by the Central government where they start their career at the Centre first before going to their respective cadre states. The Centre is organising a series of programmes for them including those on the priority programmes.

A session with Debroy was organised on Friday in which all Assistant Secretaries were directed to participate. “And whereas you were found to be absent, inter alia, means you were on unauthorised absence during the aforesaid Session. “Therefore, you are advised to show cause in writing within three days, i.e. September 15 as to why you were absent and why action should not be initiated against you,” as per orders issued by DoPT to the 37 IAS officers.
