‘Should we arrest PM for photos with Sahara chief’

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched a scathing attack on BJP, alleging that Madan Mitra’s arrest was instructed by BJP President Amit Shah and the CBI officers in Kolkata worked accordingly.

Mamata claimed that Shah, during her recent visit to Kolkata for a public rally, met the CBI officers and hatched the “conspiracy.”

“Such revengeful politics will never deter us from raising our voice for rights,” she said, while announcing that Mitra will remain the Transport Minister irrespective of his arrest.

While questioning functioning of the CBI, she said as to why Prime Minister Narendra Modi should not be arrested despite having his photographs with the Sahara chief Subrata Roy, who is presently behind bars at Tihar Jail.

“There are photos of the Prime Minister with the Sahara chief. Should we demand that the CBI arrest the PM?” Mamata retorted at a protest rally held in the Maidan area, terming the arrest a “political vendetta”.

Mamata has asked her party MPs (Trinamool Congress) to protest in Parliament against the Mitra’s arrest.
