Shirish left Kick: Salman
Bollywood star Salman Khan Monday slammed speculations that Shirish Kunder was asked to leave Kick project following the not-so-great response to his Joker at the box office.
Kunder had been roped in to direct Kick and now Sajid Nadiadwala will wield the megaphone for it. ‘No, that’s not true. Shirish left the film. He is working on something else. Ho gaya clear [Is it clear]? Good,’ tweeted Salman, who plays the lead role in the film.
Kunder’s Joker released Friday and just a day later, he announced on Twitter that he is no longer on board as the director of Kick. ‘Sajid Nadiadwala will be directing Kick. He had originally envisioned the project and I feel he is the best person to bring it to life,’ Kunder had tweeted Saturday. Nadiadwala is alsoproducing the film under his home banner, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt Ltd.
Meanwhile, Salman, who convinced producer Sajid Nadiadwala to don the director’s hat for his upcoming film Kick, says he has always wanted the producer to direct.
Salman and Sajid have been close friends for over two decades now and have worked together in films like Jeet, Judwaa, Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.
‘Sajid’s narrations are better than that of most directors, and I’ve been pushing him to make the switch for years,’ said Salman.
