Shinde orders probe into J&K firing incident

Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said on Thursday that a probe has been ordered into a firing incident following a clash between protesters and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district in which at least six people lost their lives. He also appealed to the people to maintain peace. 

At least six people were killed and about two dozen others injured in a clash between a group of protesters and the security forces, police had said. Alleging desecration of a mosque and beating up of an Imam by some BSF personnel, a group of protesters had stormed a BSF camp in Gool town of Ramban district. Police said about two dozen got injured when the BSF troops opened fire.
